Why we left fluoride out of our toothpaste

Fluoride is the default in modern toothpaste because it strengthens enamel and reduces decay. The data is clear: it works. But it isn’t the only way to keep teeth healthy — and for many families, the daily question is less “does it work” and more “is it the right kind of help.”
When we set out to design Limark Toothpaste, we asked: what would Ayurveda do? The classical answer is layered. Ganoderma (Lingzhi) mushroom polysaccharides reduce gum inflammation. Neem and clove oil are time-tested antimicrobials. Babool tightens gums. Sea salt and clay minerals polish enamel.
Together, these create the same protective shield, by a different mechanism — and without the questions about long-term fluoride exposure, especially in children who may swallow.
This isn’t anti-fluoride. It’s pro-choice. If your dentist recommends fluoride for cavity-prone teeth, follow that advice. If you’re looking for a daily classical option that the whole family can use without fear, this is what we made.
